Cupcake challenge

Sorry this is really late. I went out window shopping yesterday after having my nails repainted. Funny how 2 summer dresses managed to come home with me. But there really cute!

I made vanilla ice cream tonight, we are in love with the ice cream maker at my house! Forgot to buy my mango salsa ingredients, but did some major grocery shopping and found some great prices on meat @Vons today. The lady from the meat dept told me the secret to great grilled meat is to marinate it for several days in the freezer, so I trust the meat lady and covered pork chops and steaks in marinade and stuck them in the freezer. I have several plans for the grill this week and Iam taking Erica from 1creativelife.blogspot.com advice and will have dinner outback. Check out her site she has the most amazing ornaments posted with directions.

For the record if anyone in this house says there is nothing to eat in the kitchen I will be forced to do bodily harm. The fridg & cuboards are packed.

Heres my card for Taylors cupcake challenge @tayloredepressions.blogspot.com, I love it and the sketch!

I used Prisma glitter on the glass and liquid glass on the cherry.

Todays showcase

I like to check out my blog traffic and I am tickled to see where everyone is visiting from. I had recent visits from Ireland, Germany, Alaska, Canada and not to leave out the US ladies. THANK YOU so much for stopping by checking out what Ive been up too. Its amazing how addictive blogging is, I spend hours checking out my blog favorites. Its more amazing that I am so eager to see my traffic count meter each day, if I wasnt certain that I was sane and of right mind I would be concerned about my obsessive, co dependent behavior and maybe get some help. You know needing to check the traffic meter each day, being overly giddy when someone leaves a comment and being concerned that no one will come back to visit if I dont post every day. See what I mean!!

Well I broke out the cricut last night, I am always amazed by that little machine each time I use it, which has only been twice.

I also made strawberry ice cream this afternoon, its now freezing and ripening as I type. Guess I should make a yummy dinner to compliment the after dinner ice cream.

Guess what, my 14 yo came into my craft studio and said we should adopt a baby that way I dont have to get pregnant. Blew me away, I thought he was over the baby idea. The last time he asked me to get fat and have a baby he was 8.It really tickled me. He does not want to be the last child in the family.

Okay enough rambling heres the showcase

OLA

So I bought all the ingredients for ice cream, and Nicole Heady from http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/ has a awesome recipe for mango salsa. She actually has several yummy recipes on her site, makes me want to have a outdoor dinner party. I have spent no time in my backyard. I just had to have this neat patio set with a fire bowl table (last year), its more of a casual seating arrangement. I have only sat at it once and enjoyed a glass of wine with hubby. Maybe I should just cook all this yummy food and enjoy it with my hubby.

Sunday I made it to Scrapbook Safari, Very nice store. Cute canadian lady with a awesome french accent works there. I only spent $8. I bought some neat boy paper for skate boarding and I have the perfect pictures for them. They had some great alphabet chipboard by Tim Holtz at the store but they were $14 & $19 not what I was looking to spend that day.

Have you checked out the scs blog showing all the CHA highlights.Great stuff, heres the addie http://scscha.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/. I dont know how to hide the addie and highlight just one word in my text. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THAT, PLEASE LEAVE ME A POST AND TELL ME HOW!

CHA man I can only imagine. I have attended CTMH conventions and boy are they loaded with excitement and fun. I know CHA is way over the top with all those different vendors and incredible booths. Thats like scrapbook heaven. I wish I could attend.

Okay look at what I have done.

This is a card for a standing swap I am in, its the August stamp of the month set from CTMH. I Like It, dont you get excited when you create something you really like!!

I could show pics that would make Ford want to hire him to model. I do want to add the @ semble before the 16. I guess I should pull out the cricut I never and I mean never use. Girl Friday

Do you remember the old Lucille Ball show, when she was applying for a Girl Friday postion.I was just a little girl and thought that the name was too funny, but never seemed to fit the position. Anyhoo, one of those things that makes you go HHUUMM. So occasionally on fridays I think of Girl Friday, sometimes I wish I had one.

Well with my summer break I have been doing pretty good with creating things and using some of my hoarded products.Iam so proud of myself. Today my kiddos are forcing me to see yet another super hero movie Batman, I dont wanna go BUT Iam. I hope when there older they will still call me up to see a movie. Its kinda this thing we have been doing since they were 3 & 2.

Tomorrow I will share my nestibilities adventures.

Heres the latest

GUESS WHAT I FOUND? The rain check for my cricut cartridges, $44.99 they dont put them on sale that low any more WOOHOO!!

Have you made homemade ice cream lately, well the homemade ice cream I remember was not so great. I remember it tasting salty, such a turn off for me. Every summer my church would sell homemade ice cream after services to raise money for the childrens department. I never like it, SALT I could taste the salt. Well we purchased a ice cream maker for our summer class and I was very skeptical, just knew I wouldnt like it. But it was so YUMMY, OH MY GOSH was it yummy. So I deceided I had to have one, I didnt rush over there it took me 2 weeks. Last night I had to run to Wally world and there it was for only $15 and it makes 4 quarts. So today I will buy some forzen strawberries or maybe fresh which ever is cheaper and make fresh strawberry ice cream. Then I will have to make a batch of just plain ole vanill, for my odd ball son. You know it never fails that out of the 4 of us 1 person usually dosent like something.

Dont forget to check out my YARD SALE couple of post down.

Anyhoo look what I have been up to, I have my moms birthday card to finish but I need to go to the PO to pick up my nesties to complete the master piece.

Until later

I went shopping on Sunday

and Monday (do I count shopping online Friday night). So I made it to the scrapbook store on sunday after church. I realized it not all that, what do I mean. I guess with the store being 3o minutes away and the only one near me, I dream about getting over there to see the latest and greatest and just stuff that I wont see at Joanns or Michaels. The store has tons of stuff, I mean wall to wall BUT only a limited amount of new stuff ( I think ) Not like I visit the store daily or weekly. NO bellas, or Cosmo Cricketpapers. I did get some new Heidi Swapp papers and giant playing cards (cant wait to alter them) and some Basic Grey papers perfect for a safari or zoo theme. A couple of snazzy edged papers.OH the bling 2008, I am going to use it for a mini album cover. What about the cute bingo cards OOHH! Take a look....

So the store I shopped at on sunday Crafters Connection is just around the corner from my sisters house, well old house she moved last month. Well her new condo is around the corner from yet another scrapbook store, Srcapbook Safari(and Target)I have never been to this store before. I am tickled pink and cant wait to get back over there so I can visit the store. I should have stopped by on the way there instead of on the way home because they were closed BOOHOO.

Well yesterday I went to Joannes, there Inkadinkado clear sets are 40% off and I walked out with 3, I am a alphabet stamp set collector, and I love me some cupcakes ( like to collect them and eat the REAL deal YUM!) How about the kitty Kats. Then I stopped by Michaels for a Martha Stewart punch and more Primas and how about the bandana ribbon ONLY $1. I think I have had my fix for awhile.

I know I said I was on a craft fast or budget but I treat myself from time to time and boy was that GREAT.

PS my friday night shopping was nesties! They will be here tomorrow!!!

Okay heres the ART, its a Stacy Julian challenge.I havent added my journaling yet. You were to take a pic of you and someone you care about and place it on your cardstock and then get on the computer and type a note to the person as if you were talking to them in person and print ,add to your page, dont forget add a embellshment. Then you were to read the journaling to that person. Give it a try and leave me a link to your site so I can see it too.

The latest

Well, I got up this morning and showered and in the process of dressing the door bell rang and it was my cousin and her 1 year old. I told her back in May that she never comes by well today she did and stayed all day. I enjoyed her company, but I did not get anything done today, no trip to the scrapbook store 30 min away, no nail repair or visit to Casa Bella to look for neat deco pieces for my house. Oh well maybe tomorrow.

visit mariascards.blogspot.com for very nice blog candy give away.

PS dont forget to check out my yard sale slide show below, GREAT, LOW prices on CTMH acrylic stamp sets.

Yard Sale

Please excuse my absence, I have been working on a layout but its titleless right now. I cant seem to find the right rubons, they are nonexsistent. Let me explain this a little more. I live in a city that has NO scrapbook store, they always go out of business. That leaves us with Michaels and JoAnns, well we all know what there selection is like. Then I deceided to use my raincheck from Michaels for a cricut cartdrige for $48, I was going to get Opposites Attract. So I drive to the store which is only across the street and happly pick up the cartdrige and head to the register, I sit down my at the register to pull out my rain check and its NOT THERE, WHAT! I look in every possible place, no raincheck. So I put it back and head back home to begin the all out man hunt, I have looked for 2 days and cant find it. I am so bummed, because they have not gone on sale that low since that week. ARRGGHH, so now I will trek 30 minutes away to the nearest scrapbook store to look for some neat treasures. I want to show you what I been working on but will wait util its complete. So for now I will show you a slide show of the sets I would love to get rid of, if you now of anyone that may be interested please send them my way!! Until tomorrow. Slide show below

Yello

Have you ever called a elderly person on the phone and they answer with a Yello. I have, I dont know if they like the way Yello sounds better than Hello or what. Thats probably one of the things we will never ever know. I called my own house one day and the person on the other end said Yello, I thought I had the wrong number and disturbed some 80 year old man. No it was my 14 year old. Anyhoo I have a simple card to share today in some fun festive colors. Hope your week is FANTASTICO!!
